As far as memory goes, parisians have always liked to commemorate the memories of monunents, of famous people, of important events by plaques in the streets. Philippe Auguste wall is not different in that respect, since the oldest plaque evoking its existence still today Dauphine street dates back to the 17th century. More recently Paris City Hall has spread all over the capital historic plaques created by Philip Starck, and has not left out our favorite wall.
You will find a complete compilation (as far as we know to be true in February 2003) of all these commemorations. We have chosen below the special plaque of St Etienne du Mont, as it is the only one to show a map of a section of the well. Furthermore, it is not on the exact passage of wall.
Left bank - Right bank
It is situated along the southern ambulatory of the church. It shows the complete section going from Boulevard St Michel to Saint Jacques street, with the "parloir aux bourgeois", a local parisian building. This parlour is noticeable as it shapes a protuberance in the wall while it was still in use.
It is commemorated by a plaque on the corner of the rue Victor Cousin and rue Soufflot. According to Jacques Hillairet, this plaque is wrong and the "parloir au bourgeois" would be placed du Châtelet.
