The wall was once decorated with a genuine Caucasian dress (15th century) by the owners of the Maison du Caucase when they owned the place, no longer in 2009

68 rue du Cardinal Lemoine, the owners of the "Maison du Caucase" have a room on the other side of the yard which is at the back of their exhibition gallery. When scraping the bottom wall they found what is most likely a part of the wall stretching from the rue Descartes to the rue Clovis.
The bonding of the stones can be surprising as it is quite different from what is found a few yards further in the private yard with its entrance n° 62.

It is a common fact that Charles V, when he added a dry ditch to the fortification has taken the wall (adding parapets, loopholes, general consolidation), which were in a poor condition. We may thnik that this by itself has changed the bonding of the stones kown around in a significant way.

This picture was taken by Gerri Kotkamp in june 2002, showing the workers working for the Maison du Caucase, revealing the wall
